Stadia vs Luna vs GeForce Now vs xCloud

Hey all...I've been pretty exhaustively trying all the current streaming services. I know this is a Stadia group but I thought if anyone out there is curious about what the experience is like on other services, perhaps you could benefit from a layman's experience using each service and trying to make it my "main" service. Like I said, I'm a layman, not a professional reviewer, so there's a lot of things I'm still learning, but having tried all three of the major services, here's my thoughts.
Edit: Please bear in mind this is not an exhaustive list, just some thoughts based on a couple of months of on and off testing. I'm certainly not trying to sway or influence anyone's purchasing decisions, just giving some general thoughts that might help when trying to decide which service to look into. I know not everyone can get ahold of / rush out and buy all of the devices I have listed here - I happen to work for a tech company so I have a lot more devices floating around than most other people. Your mileage, of course, may vary!
I know there's also Steam Link, but since that requires you to have a PC capable of playing the game in the house somewhere, I'm not considering that a streaming service.
Testing Devices:

Amazon Luna

Notable Games: Control, lots of highly rated indie titles (Blasphemous, Bloodstained, Iconoclasts)
To be fair, I only have about 6 hours on Amazon Luna, but they've been pretty excruciating. My wifi averages about 75-90 MBps, and about half of the games I tried suffered from lag and graphical smear, mostly the Ubisoft+ games. The indie games played fabulously well. Luna is probably the service I have the least to say about. It's $6 a month for Luna on it's own, so it's kindof like the "also-ran" effort - it's cheap, but might be the most forgettable of the bunch. The user interface is better than GeForce Now, worse than Stadia, and unlike Stadia it doesn't seem like Luna can be enhanced with browser extensions.
I have Ubisoft+, so I tried to play Immortal: Fenyx Rising on Luna and it was absolutely horrible. Smeared graphics, dropped frames, input lag, the works. It was the only experience across all of the big three services that was literally unplayable. This seemed to be a problem only with the Ubisoft games, however, I have to stress.
Pros
Cons

GeForce Now

Notable Games: Cyberpunk 2077, Control, Immortals: Fenix Rising, Metro series, Destiny 2 (all paid)
I picked up an nVidia Shield specifically for GeForce now, but my wife and I have ended up using it primarily for Kodi and to watch Netflix more than playing any games on it. I'll just say it straight out - GeForce Now sucks ass. It's a broken, shoddy, inconsistent mess. It's actually WORSE on the Shield than it is on PC, because there are so many times when I needed a keyboard to do anything. I tried playing Immortals: Fenyx Rising on GFN on my Shield which required me to log into Ubisoft+. I'm fine with that, since you only have to do it once...but using the Shield remote that came with my Shield, the on-screen keyboard never popped up, forcing me to track down a second keyboard from in my garage and plug in. After I plugged in the physical keyboard....THEN the onscreen keyboard popped up and just mirrored what I pressed on the physical keyboard. What? Why?
Games are all over the place as well. Witcher 3 was a nightmare - every time you try to play the game, it wants to install the DLC packs onto whatever virtual machine you've been assigned. Then when you can play, it dips so far under 30 fps it's literally better to just play it on a budget PC with Hairworks off.
Plus the Shield ain't cheap - it was like $200 at Best Buy, and didn't include a controller. $100 more gets you a Series S, and $100 LESS gets you a Stadia-enabled Chromecast WITH a solid as hell controller, just for comparison's sake.
Pros
Cons

Google Stadia

Notable Games: Cyberpunk 2077 (paid), Hitman: World of Assassination (Pro), Destiny 2 (Pro), Red Dead Redemption II (Paid)
Stadia is easily the best overall, but it still has its cons. I came to Stadia thanks to Cyberpunk 2077 so I have the most hours played on Stadia of the big three services. Stadia on the Chromecast Ultra seems to me to be the hands down best way to play streamed games currently.
Of all the services, Stadia was the one that felt the least like a "me-too" service and more like a dedicated platform. Almost all of the other services felt like a way for corporations to dip their toe in the water and figure out if there's money to be made, while Stadia feels like someone who really grasps and cares about gaming is at the helm.
Pros
Cons

Xbox Game Pass / Game Pass Unlimited / Gold / Live / Play Anywhere / xCloud / Whatever it's being called these days

Notable Games: Nier: Automata BAG Edition, Dragon Quest XI S, Dragon Age: Inquisition, Mass Effect Andromeda
Xbox Game Pass gets added to this list on a pure technicality.
So, technically Xbox Game Pass isn't a streaming service, but I include it because on Android, there actually is a "cloud" option for playing your console Game Pass library. The Cloud streaming works surprisingly well, but you're limited to either an Android tablet or phone because it doesn't seem to work properly on Android TV. I've heard you can sideload onto the nVidia Shield, but that was beyond the scope of what I was trying to accomplish with these reviews...I just want something I can pick up and play. So, yeah if you don't mind playing on your phone, Game Pass Cloud is actually probably the best of the bunch in terms of ease of use and game selection. There are so many things I want to play on Game Pass it's actually a little overwhelming. However, I don't want to stare at a 5" screen for hours to do so.
Pros
Cons
Whew! I actually had way more to say on this topic than I thought, I guess. I've probably spent more time and energy on this than I should have, but working from home has given me a lot of time on my hands, so hopefully my experiences can help save someone else some time and effort. Would love some counterpoints as well!

Shadow PC on the 4K Fire TV Stick [Setup Instructions]

Just wanted to share my experience today setting up Shadow on the Fire TV Stick. Played Star Wars: Fallen Order on ultra settings without a hiccup.
Here's the hardware list for setup:
The Firestick is located close to our 5G router. It's a basic router that came with the cable service. You can setup anywhere in the house, given you have a mesh network in your home (pods supplied by cable service that extend WiFi around your home).
Instructions:
  1. The Firestick comes with an extender cable in the box. This I believe boosts the WiFi signal, so suggested to plug it in.
  2. Connect your controller to the Firestick. XBOX controllers are best, but the cheaper SN30Pro works, since it has the same buttons essentially, and is well-built.
  3. Install "Mouse Toggle" app on Firestick. This gives you mouse functionality needed later. Follow this guide to install it, and despite comments, you can use the 4K Firestick link provided in the article. It works: https://www.firesticktricks.com/mouse-toggle-firestick.html
  4. Install "Downloader" app on Firestick (covered in guide above).
  5. Within Downloader app, navigate to APKMirror and download/install the latest Shadow build for Android. I used the 3.4.4 BETA: https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/blade-group/
  6. On your mobile phone or tablet, install the "Fire TV" app from official app store. This gives you a bluetooth keyboard needed later. Once downloaded, connect it to your Firestick using the code provided on screen.
  7. Go to your computer and fire up Shadow PC. If like me you have games on several platforms like Steam, Epic, Amazon, Origin, etc., you'll want to access your installed games that utilize a controller in one interface on the Firestick.
  8. Open Steam, and add the games you want to show up on the Firestick from each platform. Installed Steam games will show up in your library automatically, as you'll be using Steam's Big Picture Mode to navigate on the stick. Games from other platforms must be manually added. Here's a guide: https://www.digitaltrends.com/gaming/how-to-add-games-to-steam-library/ "scroll to section: Add non-Steam games from other services (such as GOG.com)".
  9. A few tips - favorite the games in Steam you've manually added from other platforms. In this way, they stay separated from your main Steam library for easy removal later. Also, you likely will want to rename the games in Steam as they take on the game's executable file name (which is not pretty).
  10. In Steam settings > Interface > enable “Run Steam when my computer starts” and “Start Steam in Big Picture Mode”.
  11. In Shadow settings, set your bandwidth to a few Mbps lower than recommended, to ensure smooth playback. In my case, they recommended 20 Mbps. I set it to 10 Mbps.
  12. Shut down your Shadow session, note your Shadow username/password, and return to the Fire TV Stick.
  13. Open Shadow app on the Firestick. Login with your credentials. You can use the standard Firestick remote for this part with its built-in keyboard.
  14. Once credentials are entered, you'll be presented with a 6-digit confirmation code sent to your email to approve the connection. Open the "Fire TV" app on your phone and with its keyboard, enter the 6 digits in the email. Then click the "Continue" button in Shadow.
  15. Shadow will ask to convert your Shadow PC to Beta version. This is OK, as it only does it for the session, and nothing gets messed up. When you open Shadow on your computer later, it'll revert back to regular Windows 10 with all your stuff intact.
  16. You should be greeted by Steam in Big Picture Mode when it boots up. From there you can navigate to your installed games library using your XBOX or generic game controller. Launch a game and Bob's your uncle.
  17. If like me you have some Star Wars games from EA, you'll likely need to login to Origin again on the Firestick. Using a combination of "Mouse Toggle" and "Fire TV" apps, you can navigate the Origin login process since it requires keyboard and mouse input. For Mouse Toggle, you press play/pause button twice to enable it, then up/down to move the mouse.
  18. A quick note about bandwidth. The Shadow android app has its own bandwidth setting independent from the standard desktop Shadow settings. By default, it was set to 5 Mbps, so I set it to 10 Mbps (as I know my network can handle that), but YMMV.
  19. It's worth noting that you should keep at least 1GB of storage free on your Firestick at all times for best performance, and the Shadow app uses roughly 55MB of storage space. It keeps next to no additional data or cache. I was pretty shocked at how light it is!
I wanted to document this process in case it helps anyone else. I've heard the 4K Fire TV Stick flakes out on others, but as of January 2021 I had zero issues playing Fallen Order for an hour with the best graphic settings. Also I didn't notice any compression artifacts on a 52" 1080p LCD TV.
I don't believe the 30 minute inactivity shutdown is a problem with the android app, so IMO it's worth moving longer gaming sessions to the TV. Less chance of losing in-game progress when you step away for an exercise break.
Stay healthy gamers!

Stadia is my next gen console

EDIT: Wanted to give an update since I mentioned I get connection drops. I've been playing various games on Stadia for the past two days without a single connection drop after wiring up the CCU. I had one small network blip maybe yesterday but since the CCU is wired now it came back almost instantly. Seems to be working great for the past couple days and I expected massive network saturation due to the Christmas holidays, even bought a disgusting amount of games in the recent sale.
Long story short, I've been waiting for an Xbox Series S to be in stock forever, and an RX 6800, and well you know the rest. I decided to give Stadia a really good try and so far it's been excellent. The connection does drop sometimes, but I have my CCU wired so it comes back immediately. I bought Cyberpunk and got the free premier edition and I have to say, it's a completely different experience than playing on a web browser. Basically Stadia has become my new next-gen gaming console and it's awesome!
The CCU is more reliable, more stable, and overall more enjoyable to use than playing through a web browser. Yes you can force 1440p and 4k through extensions, but the CCU is just rock solid in terms of quality and stability. The controller, wow, I love it, it fits my hands perfectly, the joysticks feel great, the quality is top notch and the wifi connection reduces latency enough that you can simply adapt and use the latency like it's a part of your joystick deadzone. The biggest advantage I've found is no longer needing to install some of the games on my PC that could be taking up a significant amount of space, such as Elder Scrolls Online. I can play ESO with PC players, and I own it and Greymoor on Stadia, so why would I want to download and install 150GB of data to my PC when I can just stream it and be up and running instantly?
Right now I have a gaming PC, Xbone S, and Switch, and Stadia has gotten more playtime in the past week than anything else I own, it's amazing. Does the connection drop every so often? Yes. Is there noticeable latency even when using the Stadia controller? Yes. Can you realistically adapt to the latency and eventually get to a point where it's a non-issue? Yes. Stadia is great, and I hope the Stadia team continues to build on the technology in ways that are innovative and beneficial. Things like, buffering static assets that don't need to be loaded in real-time such as textures for levels or skyboxes. I would also like to see more crossplay, I know that's up to the devs, but helping those devs achieve that crossplay functionality would be great.

Stadia vs. Luna: My Experience

Got invited to try Luna this weekend. I’m a Stadia Founder, and have been a Pro member since Day 1. Decided to do an Apples to Apples test of Luna to see how it compares. I used:
Surface Pro 7 on WiFi (5GHz) Xbox One Controller ATT Gigabit Fiber
I figured the best test would be using Grid, as that’s a good game to feel out frame rate and input responsiveness. It’s also in both libraries.
I did 3 races on Luna in free play mode, and then the same 3 races on Stadia. Same tracks, same cars, same settings for controls, difficulty, etc. Both services were set to highest settings available. I installed the Luna App. Stadia was run via the Edge Browser, no plugins or mods to it.
My take? Amazon has some catching up to do. Stadia provides the clearly superior experience across the board. Better audio, much smoother visuals, and better resolution. The Luna stream would chunk and slow down during chaotic sequences, like a crash happening in front of me. I also lost controller input during my second race for about 10 seconds.
Comparing the offerings, Luna is cheaper monthly than Stadia Pro, but personally, the Luna library is weaker than Stadia. Plus, without the ability to purchase games, you are tied to that monthly fee. Seems most of the good games are locked behind the Ubisoft+ subscription, so we’re talking $20+ a month to play what you want to play.
Obviously, we on the Stadia subreddit would prefer Stadia, but after testing both in this way, Stadia is the clear choice for me. Your mileage may vary, but to me, Luna can’t touch Stadia right now. We’ll see what the future brings.
If you’ve tried both, what are your thoughts?

clueless first time builder

What will you be doing with this PC? Be as specific as possible, and include specific games or programs you will be using.
What is your maximum budget before rebates/shipping/taxes?
When do you plan on building/buying the PC? Note: beyond a week or two from today means any build you receive will be out of date when you want to buy.
What, exactly, do you need included in the budget? (ToweOS/monitokeyboard/mouse/etc)
Which country (and state/province) will you be purchasing the parts in? If you're in US, do you have access to a Microcenter location?
If reusing any parts (including monitor(s)/keyboard/mouse/etc), what parts will you be reusing? Brands and models are appreciated.
Will you be overclocking? If yes, are you interested in overclocking right away, or down the line? CPU and/or GPU?
Are there any specific features or items you want/need in the build? (ex: SSD, large amount of storage or a RAID setup, CUDA or OpenCL support, etc)
What type of network connectivity do you need? (Wired and/or WiFi) If WiFi is needed and you would like to find the fastest match for your wireless router, please list any specifics.
Do you have any specific case preferences (Size like ITX/microATX/mid-towefull-tower, styles, colors, window or not, LED lighting, etc), or a particular color theme preference for the components?
Do you need a copy of Windows included in the budget? If you do need one included, do you have a preference?
thank you

My Cloud Gamer Project - Part 1

It all started with me wanting to play Cyberpunk but realizing I don't nor will be able to have a gaming PC that can run it properly. I got a fancy new 4K TV so I wanted some glorious graphics, or at least good graphics with good framerates lol. I started looking around in the Cloud gaming space and found Stadia & GeForce Now. I was kinda skeptical about both (but not anymore) so I thought "Hey, I'm a cloud engineer! I could build this myself!" And so the project began...
It was fairly easy to figure out what to use to be honest. I'm an AWS guy so naturally I wanted to do it there, and it turns out that no other big cloud provider has anything better than what Amazon offers. I decided on the g4dn.xlarge instance type which has 4CPUs, 16GB RAM and an Nvidia T4 GPU (GCP & Azure providers have this instance too btw). Before starting the instance I was wandering about the interwebs on tips & tricks and found Parsec's ready-made solution in the form of a setup script that works for this instance type out of the box. I choose the Windows 2019 Server Base AMI and set up the machine with RDP. Heads up; the script is not super fault tolerant, so make sure to read everything that it displays otherwise you'llo have to start over again, which takes like 20min. The script installs all the drivers and bells and whistles automatically. I logged into my Parsec account during the installation on the server so at the next reboot Parsec started automatically. All I had to do was connect.
After things were running, I Parsec'd into the machine and installed CS:GO because it was honestly just free on steam and it's perfect for testing the setup. To my surprise, everything worked pretty much flawlessly right out of the gate. At this point I was on wifi on my MacBook and using keyboard+touchpad, so the gaming experience wasn't that great but still very playable. There was some input lag tho which I'm gonna talk about in just a second. I also ran some good ol' benchmarks but they turned out pretty sh*tty if I might say so. The numbers basically came back to a GTX 1050Ti category, which I was not happy about but later realized there's something fishy going on. See I am not sure why, but the benchmarking apps report pretty bad test results, but when I play AAA games on the box, I can almost max them out without a fuzz, which is surprising. I am not sure to this day (it's been a week since I started this haha) why the benchmarks are so bad when the power of the GPU while actually playing games is so good.
In fact it's so good that the whole system is running at around 50-60% utilization while playing on 90% maxed out graphics GTA5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 in 4K! I don't really understand how, but the T4 GPU is a beast, even for gaming, which I was a bit afraid of in the beginning. I haven't been able to test with more games but I'll update once I get some time into Cyberpunk. I am not expecting full-fledged graphics on it tho, and also no RTX unfortunately. I will mostly play that game on GeForce Now tho since it's gonna be a better experience, but this DIY Cloud Gamer server will still serve for playing any game that is not on Nvidia's platform. All in all, I'm very happy with this instance type and how smoothly everything is going. I'm using wireless XBOX ONE controller (model a1708) with my MacBook Pro 2020 and it all works great (there was some discussion that this controller doesn't work wirelessly on MacBooks, which is not true). It honestly feels like as if I'm playing the games locally.
Highlights:
I'm gonna make improvements to the setup of course, this is just a developed POC. For example I want to be able to shout "Hey Siri, turn on the gaming rig" to my HomePod and have it start up everything. This will be solved with Step Functions and a little Lambda magic. After the current instance is terminated, I'll also set up automation to create an AMI from the latest volumes for the new instance ready to be used. So when I tell Siri to turn it on, it's all available under ~3 minutes. After new instance is up & running, it just shows up in Parsec (this is the case right now as well).
What do you think? Ideas, inspiration, feedback and all that is welcome!

[HELP] Random high spikes of ping, program suspected to lag the network

Hey everyone, I'm hoping you can give me some advice as to what is causing extremely high spikes of ping. For a long time my brother has been really imposing with our home network, he will get very mad and throw a fit usually if someone needs to download something. My dad will have to update COD sometimes, it's one of his favorite games to unwind playing. My brother will get really mad and just start screaming about the game and how laggy it is even sometimes disconnecting his Xbox from our network if he's taking a nap so that my brother won't be lagged. I know it's pretty horrible, he can't wait for someone to be able to get a update finished that keeps the roof over his head up. We're both older so there is not a lot of excuse for being rude anymore like he acts. He'll get mad when our mom is home from work and is playing a app game on her phone connected to wifi because the adds loading between games will slow him down. It's a sad situation kinda. So back on topic, about 2 years ago For Honor was one of my favorite games and that's when the issue started- I started winning literally every match against the sweatiest players having a lot of fun. Nobody could beat me, and then extremely high spikes of ping started and at first it wouldn't happen more than once or twice a match my ping would shoot up to 200-500 for a split second just enough time to mess up my parry and get me hit with a heavy attack or a few attacks. I know it has to be a program because the lag really seems unnatural, like it's not a variable affected but rather someone is turning it on or off. It sounds crazy but I can tell from the patterns in the lag spikes it totally seems like someone is turning a program on or something plus at first my brother would giggle up a bit when the lag would happen playing For Honor.
At first the lag would happen so briefly it would be hard to notice unless you saw it flash on the scoreboard, I started thinking I was actually awful at the game I was missing every parry and thought I was just on a lucky streak before, but then games where I didn't lag once I would completely destroy the enemy. The lag didn't affect him either, I never heard him get mad about 100-500 ping up until half a year ago March-June when he realized it doesn't make sense he has no problem playing online, he started acting like he was hitting these ping spikes which that wasn't possible because it literally makes playing online impossible for me. Some days it doesn't even happen at all when he's in a good mood, and it happens less when it seems like he's sleeping. I know for a fact he stays up watching videos on his phone until when he thinks I must think he's asleep just to do it a few times.
Here is the table data from Ping-Test, I'm having these random high spikes that last for a few seconds of 200-600 ping. "1";"Ping Test: US - Washington";"51";"53";"54";"54";"54";"53";"52";"48";"55";"52";"52";"54";"1749";"54";"53";"54";"1286";"51";"1154";"2263";"54";"54";"54";"53";"59";"691";"53";"52";"52";"52";
"2";"Ping Test: US - San Francisco";"87";"87";"87";"86";"390";"85";"84";"86";"84";"84";"75";"90";"85";"84";"83";"84";"83";"89";"83";"85";"85";"86";"84";"85";"86";"79";"88";"411";"87";"86";
"3";"Ping Test: NL - Amsterdam";"127";"126";"125";"125";"123";
As you can see my ping is normal staying around 30-50 in games, but randomly on the chart I get extremely high spikes of ping. It is obvious that someone is causing this issue on my local network, the duration, intensity, and even context of the ping spikes such as when they happen say someone is causing them to me.
On the home network's router home portal, it is showing a significant amount of errors and packet loss % but only on the ethernet slot that I have my brother and I's ethernet cord splitted into, of which after I noticed and took a picture of my brother cleared the statistic counter on the page. When I looked online at a Traceroute test this is what I got, the first list is from Singapore but it shows what is going on more than the other ping locations.

What the hell is going on here? Previously I have done the ipv4 test in the runcommand window to ping to different locations, I was getting high ping spikes everywhere so I know it must be a issue with the router or a setting my brother must have changed or the program doing it. It's not the first time he has installed programs to mess with the home network and bottleneck him bandwidth, and when we only had one computer that we would have to share he would install programs to remotely shutdown the computer to try to make me think there was a virus on it that I somehow got on there and wouldn't know how to fix so he wouldn't have to wait for me to have a turn on it. He does not know how to share anything and he gets mad if you don't let him take something from you that he should be sharing with you.
Within the last couple days it has gotten worse which is kinda weird because I started ripping on it a bit, now I'm getting small spikes of up to 1000-3000 ping, the other day I hit 10,000 ping while playing a game and it didn't even kick me until after a few seconds. I'm hoping that someone can suggest a program or a way to trace what is going on in my local network, the ping spikes happen regardless of whether I'm using a ethernet connection or wifi. When I first switched to a ethernet cable and made a point to my brother who was suggesting it was the wifi that was doing it (Allowing him to lag me while keeping his connection and my dad's at top speed without us suspecting anything) at first he as acting like he did something wrong and was trying to cover it up or he was embarrassed. He was hiding in his room a little bit and the ping spikes stopped for a few days and then they came back, I made a comment about it just trash talking about the game and the ping spikes got even worse and slowly but surely he started lagging me on ethernet like he did when I'm on Wifi.
He thinks he is the overlord of our home network and he gets mad when someone else is even just playing a video game online, some nights he even turned off wifi when I was still up playing online because he thinks that he needs to have more bandwidth even though we now have a connection that downloads at 5MB per second.

[USA-PA] [H] i5-4670k complete build(No Gpu), Delidded i7-7700k/Asrock Fatal1ty z270 ITX mobo/Noctua L9i combo, Enermax Revolution 650w SFX, BNIB Xbox Series S, BNIB Ryzen 5800x, Zotax 1080ti AMP edition, PowerColor Red Dragon RX 5700xt[W] Paypal, Local Cash, PS5 Disk

Good evening, I have the following items to sell and feel free to negotiate. Forgot to say local is Philly 19141
Build:
Case: Corsair Carbide 500R White
CPU: i5-4670k w/ Hyper 212
MOBO: Asrock z87 extreme 6
RAM: Random 2x 8gb ddr3 1600
SSD: Samsung 840 128 gb
HDD: WD Black 1TB
PSU: Rosewill 650w semi modular PSU
Random white LED case fans
I got this computer from a friend and decided to fix her up. It took me some time to get it booted and I believe either 1 or 2 of the ram slots are broken and/or bad ram. I was able to buy some random ddr3 ram sticks and got the computer working by putting the ram in a specific dual channel slot so that was probably the issue but, still could be a bad SSD (most likely not since it boots just fine). Computer works now and got a fresh install of Windows 10 on it. Please be aware of issues with the mobo if you decide to purchase.
Want $150 for it and pickup only.. Sold Locally

i7-7700k Delidded/Asrock z270 Fatal1ty itx mobo/Noctua L9i heatsink:
Currently in my case now so can't get a good timestamp. Works fine but I had to get a different wifi stand up thingy since I misplaced the old one. The cpu was delidded is not sealed and is held in place by the mobo and heatsink. Thinking about upgrading my SFF pc with a 5600x with a b550 itx mobo. Will not part out.
Want $300 shipped or $270 shipped without heatsink.

Enermax Revolution 650w SFX PSU:
Had this before I upgraded to a sf750. The psu was rubbing against another component since it was previously in a very tight boutique case but just caused a minor cosmetic imperfection you can see in the picture: Does not come with a 3 prong power cord.
Want $90 shipped or $75 local. Will take $10 off if purchase with the i7/mobo combo

Zotac GTX 1080ti AMP edition:
Originally bought off a guy here a few years back. He had problems with it and crashing in games so he sold it off for really cheap. I believe the issue with it is that it would boost to such a high clock speed which caused it to crash. Even in games like WoW which isn't GPU intensive at all. I tinkered with it a little more and haven't had issues once i decreased the core clocks by 50-100mhz using MSI Afterburner. Some guy recently had similar issues with a 1080ti zotac card here. Applied new thermal paste and as long you lower the clock specs you should be okay. Please be aware of these issues when purchasing this card. No box, just the bare card itself.
Want $300 shipped or $280 local. SOLD
https://photos.app.goo.gl/2jsz5Xdf83R5MbT5A

PowerColor RX 5700XT Red Dragon:
Bought open box from microcenter and have not had any issues with it so far. Was using it in my SFF case and I believe why this GPU is so popular still. Or maybe just the gpu shortage out there.
Want $365 shipped or $345 local. SOLD!

3/21 Update: Here are the top searched questions we're seeing through our support FAQ. For additional help, please visit: help.bethesda.net
Top Searched FAQ Items:
1. “ACCOUNT HAS NOT BEEN VERIFIED” - DOOM ETERNAL
If you receive an error stating “This account has not been verified” when creating or attempting to link your Bethesda.net account in DOOM Eternal, this indicates that your Bethesda.net account has not yet been verified. This can also inidicate that you may already have an account created, but not verified through another game, such as Fallout 4 or Skyrim. You can check what account you have linked to your Betheda.net account here: https://bethesda.net/en/accoun...
However, if you have not yet verified your account, you will need to fully verify it before you are able to view the account online. During account creation, a verification email is sent to your Bethesda.net email account. You will be able to verify your account by locating that email and clicking the Verify Account button.
If you have not received the verification email, follow the steps below:
Visit https://account.bethesda.net/.Attempt to sign in to your account. When an error message with a Resend email link appears, click the link to initiate a new verification email. Locate the verification request email in your inbox.Click Verify Account to complete the verification process.Once complete, you will be able to log into your Bethesda.net account.

3. What do I do if DOOM Eternal on PC is having connection issues?
Please refer to our connection guide: https://help.bethesda.net/app/...
4. Why didn't I receive my DOOM Marine skin for linking to Bethesda.net?
Link your Slayers Club account to DOOM (1993), DOOM II, or DOOM 3 classic re-releases, which have the option to link your Bethesda.net account to the game, and receive a retro-inspired DOOM Marine skin and matching nameplate for DOOM Eternal. This will be applied to your account when DOOM Eternal launches and you have linked DOOM Eternal to the same Bethesda.net account. Verify within the classic re-releases that you've both logged in and select "Claim Your Reward."

You can connect your Bethesda.net account to your preferred platform(s) on this linking site.
I see the “Empowered Demons” settings option, but don’t see them in the game.
The Empowered Demons feature will be enabled in a future update. We’ll let you know once this new feature is enabled!
What do I do if I haven’t received my preordedeluxe edition items in DOOM Eternal?
First, ensure that you have redeemed all applicable codes. You may have received a code from your retailer (sometimes printed on the receipt itself). For physical copies, you may want to check with your retailer. If you still have not received your items, you can enter the Bethesda.net settings menu in-game and claim items by selecting Reconcile Entitlements.
What do I do if I see a black screen on PC?
A black screen on launch typically is a result of your graphics card drivers not being up to date, your machine not meeting the minimum system requirements, or an Anti-Virus program blocking or quarantining DOOM Eternal. You should first check to ensure that your machine meets the game’s minimum requirements here and make sure to add Doom Eternal as an exception to your Anti-Virus software.

How will I receive the exclusive DOOM Eternal skins that come from linking the Bethesda Account to DOOM, DOOM II, and DOOM 3?
These items will be granted to the Bethesda Account when DOOM Eternal launches. Be sure you use the same Bethesda.net/Slayers Club accounts on both your classic DOOM titles and DOOM Eternal.
What do I do if I can't progress in an objective in DOOM Eternal?
Sometimes you may be near an objective marker, but it could be on a higher or lower platform. Check your Map to make sure you are at the correct location.
If you are currently blocked by a Demon Gate, a demon may have escaped the area. In most cases they will return to the main arena shortly. If they do not return, restart from an earlier saved checkpoint by selecting Load Checkpoint from the Pause Menu.
If you are unable to load your previous checkpoint, you will have to select Reset Mission or Exit to Main Menu.
How do I use Photo Mode in DOOM Eternal?
Photo Mode is currently in Beta and only available in Mission Select after you have completed a mission in the Campaign mode. You must first enable Photo Mode from the settings menu. Once Photo Mode has been enabled you may press Right-Alt on a keyboard or Down on the D-Pad of a controller to access Photo Mode during gameplay. You can move the camera’s position and view the Slayer in third-person mode. You can also view the Slayer wearing skins that you’ve unlocked.
Known Issues for DOOM Eternal (all platforms):
Gameplay:
Issue: I noticed that my XP was negative after completing a campaign level or a BATTLEMODE match at one point, probably on a Thursday. Does this mean that I lost progress?
Resolution: You didn't lose any progress. This is a cosmetic issue that occurs if you complete a campaign level or a BATTLEMODE match while we are deploying a new Series. We will be correcting this issue in a future patch.
Issue: I've noticed that some of my customized DOOM Slayer skins aren't showing up correctly in BATTLEMODE lobbies and podium screens. Is there anything I can do about this?
Resolution: Resetting all weapon skins to default and reselecting your Slayer and weapon skins from the BATTLEMODE Customization menu will resolve this issue. This issue can also be avoided this if you select your DOOM Slayer character and weapon skins from the main menu's Customization sub-menu before entering BATTLEMODE.
Issue*: I just finished playing a Ripatorium session from the Fortress of DOOM. Can I play another one right away?*
Resolution: You can only play one Ripatorium session per visit to the Fortress of DOOM.
Issue: I'm on my first play-through of the campaign and the Slayer Gate Keys aren't appearing. Is there anything I can do about this?
Resolution: Deactivating Cheat Codes in the Mission Select menu will resolve this.
Issue: I am getting the following message: "No username specified. Please complete account verification." What does it mean and what can I do?
Resolution: There are two possible causes for this message. The good news is that you can continue into the game unimpeded for both cases. 1) Users who have created Bethesda.net accounts without specifying a username in another Bethesda title will see this message. For these users, you will need to complete the steps outlined in the Account Verification email that Bethesda.net sent you at the time of account creation in order to dismiss this message. 2) Some users who have created Bethesda.net user names are also reporting they are seeing this message. This user group is experiencing a delay in backend services that we are working dilligently to resolve. We apologize for the inconvenience and want to remind this user group that they can excuse the message and play the game unimpeded.
Issue: Pinned Weapon challenges on HUD are removed after reloading a checkpoint.
Resolution: Re-pin the Weapon Challenge. This will be addressed in a future patch.
Issue: Weekly Challenges must be re-pinned after beginning a Mission from the Fortress of DOOM.
Resolution: Re-pin the Weekly Challenge. This will be addressed in a future patch.
Issue: Sentinel Status is not always removed consistently from players.
Resolution: Re-accessing the Social Menu will correctly display the Sentinel Status of selected players. This will be addressed in a future patch.
Issue: Saves on Ultra-Nightmare difficulty are not deleted if the game is closed on the Game Over screen.
Resolution: This is an intended function of the Ultra-Nightmare experience. Although the game cannot be progressed on a given save after dying, saves will only be deleted with user permission.
Issue: Player is unable to access the Weapon Wheel if the Weapon Wheel function is bound to the Photomode key (D-Pad down)
Resolution: Do not assign Weapon Wheel to the same function as Photomode.
Issue: Why aren’t my friends receiving my Party invites?
Resolution: In some situations, delivery of party invitations may be delayed. Re-send a party invite if it fails to arrive after a minute or two.
Issue*: I’ve killed all the Demons in the current arena, but demon gates are still blocking me.*
Resolution: Demons may escape from their gates in rare situations. In most cases they return to the main arena shortly. However, if they persistent, restarting from the previous saved checkpoint resolves this issue.
Issue: Can I play a BATTLEMODE match with a friend on another platform?
Resolution: DOOM Eternal currently does not support cross-platform multiplayer
Issue: Can I invite my friends to a private match or party from [Xbox One/PS4/Steam/Bethesda.net/Stadia] system software?
Resolution: You can only currently invite friends to private matches and parties via the in-game Social Menu. Will be updating DOOM Eternal to support system software invites in the near future.
Issue*: The TAB key will stop functioning as a keybind for opening the dossier if the user minimizes the game window with alt-enter.*
Resolution*: In order to restore this functionality, the user needs to first maximize the title, then alt-tab out of the game and alt-tab back into the game.*
Issue*: I have the Bethesda.net PC version of the DOOM Eternal. Is there a way for me to add or remove friends in game or on the Bethesda.net launcher?*
Resolution: The Bethesda.net launcher does currently not have a friends management feature. If you play with users in BATTLEMODE matches you can add them as a "Favorite" and they will show up in the Favorites tab and invite them through the Social menu.
Accounts/Entitlement Redemption:
Issue: My Milestones don't show up when I change save game slots. Is there anything I can do?
Resolution: This is by design. Your Milestone progression is unique to each save game slot.
Issue: Milestone rewards don’t unlock if the player is offline when the Milestone is achieved.
Resolution: This will be addressed in a future patch.
Issue: Is there a way to link my Bethesda.net account out of the game?
Resolution: You can link your Bethesda.net account on the web here: https://bethesda.net/
Issue: I'm on my first play-through of the campaign and the Slayer Gate Keys aren't appearing. Is there anything I can do about this?
Resolution: Deactivating Cheat Codes in the Mission Select menu will resolve this.
Stadia:
Issue: Why am I seeing "This account is already online with DOOM Eternal on another device" on Stadia?
Resolution: In periods of heavy traffic, Stadia players may need up to 3 minutes before being able to access the title on another device with their same account. Close the play session on your current device and wait several minutes before accessing on a second device.
Issue: When I move from one device to another while playing on Stadia, I get a message saying "This account is already online with DOOM Eternal on another device. Please exit DOOM Eternal on other devices and retry." Is there anything I can do about this?
Resolution: Try again in 3 minutes. There is currently a 3 minute cooldown when switching devices while playing DOOM Eternal on Stadia.
PC Technical issues:
Issue: When playing BATTLEMODE as a Pain Elemental on PC, the Lost Souls move erratically when using the Soul Shield ability. Is there anything I can do about this?
Resolution: This happens for some PC users when they are playing with V-Sync disabled. Re-enabling V-Sync should resolve the issue.
Issue: UI elements appear too dim or bright while playing in HDR mode on PC. Is there anything I can do about this?
Resolution: This issue happens when Windows is not set to HDR display mode. Enabling HDR display mode in Windows should mitigate the issue.
Issue I am playing the game on PC and frequently encounter connection lost messages in-game? Is there anything I can do to resolve this?
Resolution: First, make sure you follow standard internet connection troubleshooting steps (ISP service issues, poor WiFi connection, etc.). You will also want to make sure that your Windows Date and Time are set automatically (located in the lower right-hand corner of your Windows task bar).
Issue*: I have an NVIDIA GPU and experience a flickering effect with HDR enabled on my HDR-supported monitor? Is there anything I can do about this?*
Resolution: To resolve this issue, please download and install NVIDIA GPU drivers version 445.75 from the links below:
Win 7: https://www.nvidia.com/Download/driverResults.aspx/159086/en-us
Win 10: https://www.nvidia.com/Download/driverResults.aspx/159091/en-us
Issue: The Automap appears dark on my PC's HDR-capable monitor when HDR is enabled? Is there anything I can do about this?
Resolution: We apologize for the inconvenience. We are working to address this in an upcoming PC patch. If you make heavy use of the Automap, we recommend you play with HDR disabled in the interim.
Issue: When I try to run DOOM Eternal on PC, I get the following error: "The server is not reachable, check your internet connection and click "Retry"". What do I do?
Resolution: To resolve this issue, head to the Control Panel on your computer, go to "Internet Options", select the "Advanced" tab, scroll down to "Security", enable "Use TLS 1.2", and then click "OK".
Issue: I meet the minimum system requirements and have the latest GPU drivers installed, but am experiencing performance and/or stability issues. Are there any troubleshooting steps I can take to ensure the game runs as expected on my system?
Resolution: First make sure that your system actually meets the minimum system spec requirements and has the latest GPU drivers installed. That information is available elsewhere in this FAQ.Users who have confirmed they meet the minimum system requirements and have the latest GPU drivers installed will experience performance and possibly stability issues if they are running settings that are inappropriate for their PC configuration. For best resultsusers who have a GPU that has no more than 4GB of dedicated VRAM should run the game at 1080p at Low Quality settings. Users who have a GPU that has no more than 8GB of dedicated VRAM should run the game at 1440p at High Quality settings (monitor permitting).Because there are so many possible PC configurations, you may need to take a trial and error approach to get the very best reslts for your PC configuration. Reducing Texture and Shadow Quality will be the first option you'll want to experiment with if you are looking for custom game settings.
Issue: I am encountering audio issues (i.e. dropouts, missing audio) when using a bluetooth headset on my PC. What can I do?
Resolution: Your issue may be resolved by turning off "handsfree telephony" on your PC. Head to the "control panel", "view devices and printers", double click the headset you're using, open "properties", select the "services" tab, untick "handsfree telephony" and then select ok.
Issue: Verifying the integrity of game files will cause the game to shut down when loading classic DOOM II from the in-game Hub.
Resolution: We're working on resolving this in a future update. In the meantime, we recommend users avoid using this Steam option unless required to as part of troubleshooting.
Issue: Why am I seeing poor performance while using G-Sync or Freesync?
Resolution: For best performance with these features, enable V-sync from the in-game graphics settings. Note that 3rd party tools configured to limit frame rates may adversely impact performance.
Issue: I have an AMD GPU and HDR monitor, but the game won't run in HDR display mode. What can I do to resolve this?
Resolution:To run the game in HDR display mode on supported monitors, players with AMD GPUs need to have the official DOOM Eternal release drivers (20.3.1). Download them here: https://www.amd.com/en/support...
Issue*: I have the latest GPU drivers installed and meet minimum system specs, but the game doesn't launch correctly or crashes on launch. Is there anything I can do?*
Resolution: For some users, there's a chance you don't have all of the required DirectX files installed. Reinstalling the DirectX runtime libraries from the following location may resolve this issue: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8109If reinstalling the DirectX runtime libraries doesn't resolve the issue, there's a chance your motherboard BIOS or CPU drivers are out of date.
For AMD Ryzen CPU users, updating your motherboard's BIOS and Ryzen chipset drivers may resolve this issue. The BIOS and chipset drivers are the links between your hardware and the operating system. Updating to the latest software ensures users have the latest performance and stability enhancements for the platform. To prevent the game crashing on your Ryzen system, please update your BIOS to the latest version using the files and procedures found on the motherboard manufacturer's website. Additionally, you will need to update your chipset drivers which can be found here.
Issue: The specifications published online don’t match the specifications on my boxed copy. Will my PC be able to run DOOM Eternal?
Resolution: Performance optimizations during development resulted in the expectations for performance on the minimum specification to increase for the majority of players. PCs that meet the published back-of-box specifications will still run at those settings, but most users will be able to run at more graphically intensive settings.
Issue: DOOM Eternal fails to launch or crashes while launching on my Laptop.
Resolution: We do not officially support laptop hardware. Laptops that conform to the supported hardware specifications may run DOOM Eternal.
Issue: Game window is resetting to default resolution after removing monitors while game is running.
Resolution: Issue is caused by changing hardware while title is active. Add/remove hardware before launching the game.
Issue*: Does DOOM Eternal support Crossfire for AMD or SLI for NVIDIA GPUs?*
Resolution: DOOM Eternal does not support Crossfire for AMD or SLI for NVIDIA GPUs. If you play the game with Crossfire or SLI enabled, you will experience performance issues or even crash. If you have dual GPUs on your PC, plug both monitors into the primary GPU before you play DOOM Eternal.
Issue*: Game crashes when changing settings to Ultra, Nightmare, or Ultra-Nightmare on some systems using only 8 GB of system RAM with Nvidia GeForce RTX GPUs.*
Resolution: When playing the game on these cards, keep settings at High or increase system RAM to at least 16 GB.
Issue: Game does not launch on Windows 8 with an AMD GPU installed.
Resolution: The latest AMD drivers are incompatible with DOOM Eternal on Windows 8.1. Install the AMD Radeon driver version 19.10.1 in order to play DOOM Eternal.
Issue: Game or PC crashes when turning off Vertical Sync while OBS is open.
Resolution: The DOOM Eternal game-ready drivers from AMD resolves this issue. This can also be worked around setting V-Sync to “On”, “Adaptive”, or “Triple Buffered” on older AMD GPU driver releases.
Issue: Game crashes when launched on Intel or AMD integrated graphics chipsets.
Resolution: Integrated Graphics options are not supported.
Issue: Some areas of the screen are obscured by large numbers of black particles.
Resolution: If the issue is encountered, assuming you are able to run the game, disabling the Depth of Field option will resolve this issue.
Issue: Game loads to a black screen when launching in full-screen mode.
Resolution: This issue is caused by the DOOM Eternal executable getting quarantined by an Anti-Virus program. Add an exception to your Anti-Virus program to resolve.
Issue*: The game won't launch on my laptop.*
Resolution: Make sure that the laptop uses its dedicated GPU and that the laptop is plugged into power. (This may also help with some desktops that use mother boards that have integrated GPUs.) Your NVIDIA driver needs to be setup to pick the dedicated GPU.
Issue: Game performance is degraded while playing with external software overlays enabled, such as MSI Afterburner, ReShade and others. There is also a known issue with the Steam overlay that can result in performance degradation.
Resolution: Disable any external software overlay to improve performance. You may also want to try disabling the Steam overlay. Please use the in-game performance metric display to track FPS and other valuable runtime performance metrics.
Console Known issues:
Issue: DOOM Slayer fist remains on screen and player is unable to change to any weapon
Resolution: Reloading the previous checkpoint resolves the issue.
Issue*: I'm a console player and the game crashes when I try to play the original DOOM or DOOM II from the Fortress of DOOM. Is there anything I can do?*
Resolution: We appologize for the inconvenience. We are working to address this in our next console update. Stay tuned for more details.
PS4 Known issues:
Issue*: I'm encountering an error that says "You do not have permission to access this content."*
Resolution: Check your "addons" in DOOM Eternal and make sure the campaign is downloaded. If it is and you can't access the game, go into PS4 Settings > Account Management > Restore Licenses. Once the licenses restore you should no longer see this message and can play the game.
Xbox One Known issues:
Issue*: For physical copies of DOOM Eternal on Xbox One, users must download the available patch which allows users to properly unlock achievements. It is highly recommended that owners of physical copies download that update. If a user with a disc copy of DOOM Eternal bypasses the update, achievements will not be unlocked.*
Resolution*: To prevent the issue, please ensure you have downloaded the patch (1.0.0.6). Digital copies of DOOM Eternal will automatically download the patch.*
If you’ve bypassed the patch and have played the game, in order to resolve the issue, the user must delete all title-associated save data from 'Manage games' and repeat the achievement criteria in an online state to unlock achievements after this issue occurs.
Issue: Pre-Order / Deluxe items purchased from the Xbox One store may not immediately appear in game.
Resolution: Items are guaranteed to be awarded over a period of time, but to speed up this process, players can enter the Bethesda.Net settings menu and claim items by selecting the “Reclaim Entitlements” option.
Issue: The initial chunk for the game has installed, but I’m unable to launch the campaign
Resolution: DOOM Eternal requires the title to be fully installed before starting a new campaign. Please wait for the install to complete and try again.
Issue: I’ve installed the DOOM Eternal (Campaign) from disc, why can’t I start a new campaign?
Resolution: In order to play the campaign, all components of DOOM Eternal must be installed from disc (both BATTLEMODE and Campaign). After inserting the disc, select ‘Install All’ to ensure your ability to play.

This list will be left up for quite a while, items will slowly make their way to eBay or other market places after a couple weeks.
Please make sure you want the items you pay for! PayPal no longer refunds the seller fees when a seller issues a refund. If you request to cancel after paying, but before shipping, I end up eating the seller fee. PayPal Policy

ADATA SU800 2TB 2.5” SSD $180 SSD was used briefly as a game drive, but I no longer have room for a 2.5” in my itty bitty SFF build. Barely used. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1Flxj4RZvt4DMaPMRVai-8cgTSxmkg3aI?usp=sharing

Silver Alienware m17x R1 $400 Win 10 Home Activated, Intel Core2Duo P8600, 8gb (4gbx2) @1333mhz, 1920x1200@60hz RGBLED, 1GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260m, 320gb HDD (Win 10 and drivers installed), Blu-Ray/DVDRW Drive. Great condition, recently cleaned inside and out with new thermal pads and paste. Thoroughly tested. Comes with both HDD caddies and screws. RGBLED is an amazing screen, plus Blu-Ray Drive makes this an amazing media PC. Ready for your CPU and GPU upgrades if you choose as well. Will be shipped with the Dell XPS Laptop Backpack below and a sealed, never worn, Alienware hat. Backpack will be free of charge. Highly recommend dropping an SSD in as at least a boot drive! Screen is near flawless and was purchased new as part of the upgrade process of this project. Left side USB 2.0 ports do not work, right side ports work AND I will include free the below USB 3.0 express card (faster than the stock USB ports) Power adapter and cord included.
Startech.Com 2 Port Flush Mount ExpressCard 54mm SuperSpeed USB 3.0 $30 ECUSB3S254F, works perfect!
Dell XPS Laptop Backpack $40 Huge bag capable of holding tons of books, a huge 17-18" laptop, chargers, and more!
Black Alienware m17x R1 $275 Win 10 Home (Not activated, but Windows 7 key on laptop is valid. You can do the upgrade through Win 7 free for activation and pop the HDD back in or drop an SSD in for a clean install. Grab the drivers and instructions I have on the desktop off first though). Intel Pentium T4400 Dual Core CPU @2.20 GHz, 4gb (2x2gb) DDR3 Ram @1066mhz, 1920x1200@59hz CCFL LCD Display, 1GB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4870 GPU, 60gb HDD, DVD-RW Drive. Check pics for minor cosmetic damage at front left speaker, I didn’t realize until I was done refurbishing the laptop that the bottom panel was slightly bent. The top panel is new and still has the protecting seal on it. Screen is in great condition. Will be shipped with the Alienware Orion bag below for no additional cost. New thermal pads and paste applied. Power adapter and cord included.
Alienware Orion M17x Messenger Bag $30 ScanFast TSA Checkpoint Friendly 17.3-Inch Gaming Laptop bag. One of the carrying handles is missing at the top, but doesn't effect usage as a messenger bag. Great condition otherwise.
Red Alienware m14x R1 $400 Win 10 Home Activated, Intel i7-2630QM, 8GB (2x4gb) DDR3 @1600mhz, 1366x768@60hz LCD Display, Intel HD Graphics 3000, 3GB Nvidia GeForce GT 555m, TC Sunbow 480 GB SATA3 SSD (literally only used to install the OS and get it running), DVD-RW slot load drive. This is an excellent PC overall for daily use! Super fast boot time, unlocked BIOS purchased and installed, played some Fall Guys to test :D. Subtract $50 if you do not want the 480GB SSD. Shiny Red skin is installed to protect case and cover blemishes. M14x was known for having a strange exterior material on the keyboard/wrist wrest area that became stick. Rather than spending a lot on new parts, I opted for a skin and did my best to apply. Skin is not perfect, but makes for a solid laptop overall. Given new thermal pads and paste which made the laptop nearly silent during most usage. WEBCAM DOES NOT FUNCTION. Has an English/Arabic keyboard. Power adapter and cord included, cables function fine BUT the plastic shielding is crumbling for some unknown reason.
HP Envy 17 with Beats Audio $250 without storage Win 10 Home Activated, i7-4700MQ, 16 GB DDR3 1600 mhz, 1920x1080@60hz, Intel HD Graphics 4600, 2GB NVIDIA GeForce GT 740m, 128 GB Intel SSD, 2x 2TB Seagate 2.5” HDDs. Minor scratches to exterior, minor marks on screen (see pics). $60 per 2TB HDD, $20 for SSD Will include below DVD drive for free if purchasing drives, otherwise I’ll reinstall it before shipping. Very easy to remove and reinstall. Power adapter and cord included.
HP DVD-RW Burner Drive SU-208 $5 This is pulled from the HP Envy, I can reinstall it. The DVD drive was replaced with an SSD and storage drive caddy. DVD drive is fully working

2020 Game Streaming Services Review: Xcloud is utter garbage when compared to Stadia or just about anything else.

To give a little background on my position I will share my experience. I utilize a 1Gbps fiber connection to the internet in Texas for streaming. I run these services on a Galaxy S10 (stand alone w/Kishi and DeX), a Hisense H9F Android TV, and an upgraded Razer Edge Pro PC (with control module and dock). The following views come from a paying subscriber's perspective. I am a Stadia Founder, a current Shadow subscriber, a Game Pass Ultimate PC subscriber and formerly a Geforce Now (GFN) Founder. Right now I game about 50/50 between Stadia and Shadow. Admittedly, I use Shadow more because it also functions as a powerful mobile graphics workstation for me. I'm going to touch on some common points about these services and maybe some uncommon ones based on the gear I use. I'd also like to get something out of the way before I get started. If I had to choose just one service to keep out of all of those mentioned above it would be Shadow without a doubt. That being said nothing beats the streaming gaming experience on Stadia from my point of view.
Resolution, Framerate, Color quality: 1st - Stadia 2nd - Shadow 3rd - GFN 4th - Xcloud
Stadia's 4k 60fps HDR capabilities making it the best in its class for streaming gameplay. This is especially apparent on a Chromecast Ultra where the experience is more consistent (various hardware and software factors on PC can effect performance) . Shadow is capable of limited 4k (no hdr support with limited framerate performance) and newer packages which I haven't tested yet are rolling out but aren't commonly available enough yet to consider as a feature of the service yet. GFN is capped at FHD (1080p) at 60fps with no HDR support currently to the best of my knowledge but it performed well when I used it. Xcloud runs at 720p 60fps but poorly with plenty of artifacts and image distortion. It is dead last by a long margin due to inferior video stream quality that offers neither quality or consistency.
Overall Hardware Support (Play Anywhere) 1st- Shadow 2nd- GFN 3rd- Stadia 4th- Xcloud
Shadows has officially support apps across every major hardware platform (PC, Android, and Android TV). There are no controller restrictions and wireless devices are supported. Shadow can also be scaled by the user through the application to fit almost any scenario (ex: Wireless, Mobile data). It is also relatively easy to jump across different Hardware in the same session. It also has a dedicated hardware platform, the Shadow Ghost. GFN has official apps on Android and PC but will require a sideload to use on Android TV. GFN is also scalable through the application though not quite at the same level as Shadow (ex: no codec options). It also performs well on most modern Android TVs. It has a dedicated hardware platform, the Nvidia Shield. Stadia is a really close runner up here to GFN and supports many of the same options but doesn't really perform as well on mobile data. This could improve in the future and use of the platform over mobile data is relatively new and considered experimental. Xcloud comes in dead last here too. Xcloud only officially supports Android. It can be sideloaded to Android TV but doesn't perform nearly as well as GFN, Shadow, or Stadia on most TVs. You also better know what APK your hardware supports and hope the app shows up in your app menu once you sideload and install it. In best case scenarios wifi and supported hardware Xcloud runs acceptably but beyond that it is a mess of stuttering and subpar image quality. Xcloud is also cropped which is obvious on larger displays. There is no application for Xcloud on PC at this time.
Game Library: 1st - Shadow 2nd - Stadia 3rd - GFN 4th - Xcloud
Shadow is hands down the winner here as it is a full featured PC with nearly no limitation on what you can play to include mods of existing games. Some newer anti cheats on modern games such a Valorant block play on Shadow but they are few and far between. While GFN does edge out Stadia in quantity there are some caveats that place it behind Stadia overall. There are no guarantees with what games will maintain developer approval on GFN. Many major publishers have pulled their libraries since its official launch. While Stadia's available library continues to grow GFN's has shrunk considerably. It simply isn't safe to invest in a GFN library unless you own a PC capable of running those games well. If you do then you have better options available to you than using any of these services. The guarantee of free games added to your library each month coupled with official developer give Stadia a clear advantage here. Xcloud boasts approximately 100 games at launch. It is by no means a distant 4th here compared to previous categories we've covered. Many of these titles are first party offerings by Microsoft or low budget games. The offerings are not nearly as diverse in regards to third party developers AAA titles such as Stadia or Shadow. Don't expect to play the best Ubisoft, Rockstar, and others offer here. Also you won't see brand new titles featured here first unless it's a first party offering. If you are into Microsoft games then you might rate Xcloud higher against Stadia or GFN but it's an accessory service and not a main platform like Stadia which limits its potential.
Pricing and Plans: 1st: GFN 2nd: Stadia 3rd: Shadow 4th: Xcloud
GFN has the lowest cost of entry at around $5 (USD) a month for premium access while also offering limited free access. You also get to play PC titles you may already own while being able to get often low PC game level pricing on new editions to your library. Stadia comes in second here offering a premium subscription for approxiamately $10 a month and limited free access. Stadia also offers a number of free titles to add to your library each month contingent on maintaining your premium subscription. While some sales are available on this platform games on Stadia do tend to cost more than their PC counterparts or older console versions). Shadow is similiar to GFN but has no free access and costs approximately $12 dollars a month for it cheapest plan option with an annual commitment. Shadow offers additional storage and is rolling out upgraded hardware plans at a cost. Xcloud is bundle with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate which costs around $15 a month with no free access plan. While Xbox Game Pass (XGP) bundled with the service offers a wide selection of games many titles are depend on which platform you subscribe to (PC or Console) and all gamepass games or not available for play on Xcloud. It would be great if Microsoft offered Xcloud as a stand alone service in the future to reduce the cost of entry and I am in no way knocking XGP's value but if you are in the market solely for a game streaming service Xcloud currently has the highest cost of entry. All that being said outside of the focus of this review (game streaming services), if you are looking at overall value, Shadow stands out once again as it offers a powerful cloud workstation in addtional to a great PC gaming solution.
Accessibility (Ease of Use and Access Experience):
1st- Stadia 2nd- Xcloud 3rd- GFN 4th- Shadow
Stadia really shines here. The ability to quickly get into your games to play along with often drastically reduced load times really sets Stadia apart from its peers. This is especially apparent in MMOs where loading into different areas really impacts your overall experience. Not to mention the platform's integration with home assistants and smart devices. Stadia is a very distant first here. Xcloud also is fairly simple to access via the XGP app but takes considerably longer to get into a game than Stadia and doesn't feature vastly superior load times as many games don't seem optimized for the service. All games are preloaded though which firmly places it 2nd in this category behind stadia. GFN has many games preloaded but not all. You also have to contend with additional game service logins beyond the GFN interface and may be required to jump through some hoops to optimize your game settings if needed. Load time performances vary based on fhe game but falls far behind Stadia overall. Shadow requires you to pre-install all of the game services you require and games on them. It is a full featured PC and demands a higher level of attention to use. Loads times are great for a PC but don't expect anything exceptional compared to an optimized platform like Stadia. You also have to ensure you configure Windows correctly to support the services and games you want to use sometimes in spite of Shadows default configuration. It can be a real headache if you aren't tech savvy.
Conclusion:
Well that is everything I have on the subject for now. It's been a while since I've cared about GFN as I let my subscription lapse shortly after nearly every major publisher pulled their titles reducing my usable library by 70% so some of my information may be out of date. I am also fairly new to Xcloud but given how hideous it looks and performs compared to Shadow or Stadia I doubt I will be spending a lot of time on it. I also feel that Stadia is in its infancy and has many features planned that will really set it apart. It will also be interesting to see how Sony's streaming sevice developes but as of yet I haven't had any experience with it. I have enjoyed many of Sony's first party games in the past so I do plan to try it out in the future. Hope this helps someone decide what service to invest in and what to steer clear of. It truly amazes me how unreliable the press is regarding covering these services. The best thing to do is try them for yourself.
*** Update : Network Information ***
I'm using an AT&T BGW210 running wired to a 1 Gb port to an Android TV, a 1Gb port for Chomecast Ultra, and get about 500+ Mbps up and down on a 5Ghz wifi link to my phone. The PC itself is connected through a wireless AC adapter and gets about 350 Mbps up and down to anywhere in my home. Mobile service is 4G through AT&T with approximately 50 Mbps download in the area around my home. Latency to the first hop on a speedtest is about 2-5 ms. For the mobile service it is 15-20 ms.

The truth about Smart Delivery game discs

TL;DR: Smart Delivery discs are just base Xbox One versions on disc. Smart Delivery on a Series X means full digital download and not update patches to the base game like on One X. If you have slow / capped internet (or both), or like physical discs to cut down on downloads / preserve games, you may want to reconsider getting a Series X right now. I assume Series S is the same.
Full post: Let me preface by saying I buy all the consoles, but Xbox One was my lead platform last gen. Even with the whole 900p controversy on the OG Xbox, I still bought all multiplats on OG Xbox One. This paid off when One X came around. So again, I got both consoles with the plan to make Series X lead platform as I still believe in its better hardware despite early benchmarks. I also buy discs because of better prices and because my internet is not super fast and I have to deal with Comcast data caps. That said, I've been noticing launch games on disc having huge downloads lately. What gives?
Ok, so I did a bunch of testing using Smart Delivery Series X games on an Xbox One X and a Xbox Series X. My internet isn't the fastest so this took awhile when downloading updates/upgrades. Games I tested with: Dirt 5, Assassins Creed: Valhalla, WatchDogs Legion, The Falconeer.
Tables of results:
Installing disc and update separately
Installing disc and update together
Overall the base Xbox One game is on the disc. When you install it to a Xbox One X, you get the Xbox One game. If you're online, it wants to download an update. This could be just patches or patches and enhancements. Either way it's a smaller file.
When you install the disc to a Xbox Series X offline (must be forced, see below), you get the same base Xbox One version. But if you're online it'll ask if you want to upgrade (not update) and it downloads the full digital version (still requires the disc to play). Only 10% or less of the game is installed from the disc. As a result, the downloads are massive. Dirt 5 is a clear example of that at over double the base Xbox One install size.
The Falconeer is the outlier in that the disc install is 2.4-2.5GB and the update on all platforms replaces the entire disc install with an overall smaller install.
Couple oddities to note about Xbox Series X offline installing for all games tested except The Falconeer:
So based on these, Dirt 5 was the most annoying because I had to unplug to get it to install, re-plug to get it to finalize, the unplug again to get it to play.
Bottom line: If you have slow/capped internet, or prefer physical for less downloading / preserving games, don't get a Series X unless you want to play every cross gen game as an Xbox One (not X) game in BC mode or wait days for a game to download. Until they start putting only Series X games on the disc, or start considering the Series X as the lead platform, it'll be this way.
If you want to play next gen games with the least downloading right now, get a PS5 and buy the PS5 versions of the game. Sucks, but that's the way it is.

Building my first PC in Canada. All help is appreciated. Thanks!

  1. What will you be doing with this PC? Be as specific as possible, and include specific games (ex: resolution, FPS, settings) or programs you will be using.
Two of the biggest reasons that I've decided to build my first PC are because my current laptop doesn't cut it for Lightroom or Unreal engine. My current laptop doesn't meet the minimum requirements for Lightroom so I installed darktable and the performance is almost unusable. I also installed unreal engine while I was trying to learn some game development and this laptop isn't going to cut it. (I use a Lenovo ideapad y510p).
I've listed some of the things I'll be using the pc for below:
Gaming - I play on the Xbox One and PS4 at the moment and I'm not too picky about fps and resolution but I do want to build a pc that I can use for the next 10 years with minimal upgrades (I've been using the same laptop for over 10 years now). I don't think I'll be getting a 4k monitor at first but I do plan on getting one eventually. I play a lot of cod warzone at the moment but I also play a lot of campaign based games.
Photo editing - Going to be using Lightroom and Photoshop and managing large amounts of image files. I may also get into video editing down the line.
Game Development - Learning game development at the moment so I'd like a PC that I can use Unreal Engine 4 on.
  1. What is your maximum PRE-TAX budget before rebates and shipping?
I want to say $2000 without the monitor but I'm pretty flexible if it means getting something I can use over a long period of time with minimal upgrades.
  1. When do you plan on building/buying the PC? Note: beyond a week or two from today means any build you receive will be out of date when you want to buy.
Within the next month but I'm willing to wait on stock for certain parts. I have my eye on the nvidia 3080 so I'll be waiting for that to go in stock if I decide on getting that.
  1. What, exactly, do you need included in the budget? (ex: toweOS/monitokeyboard/mouse/etc)
Tower, OS (I may be able to get this myself), monitor (I'll be upgrading to 4k eventually but I'm okay with settling on this at the beginning)
  1. If reusing any parts (including monitor(s)/keyboard/mouse/etc), what parts will you be reusing? How old are they? Brands and models are appreciated.
I'll be using an older keyboard and mouse for now.
  1. Will you be overclocking (ex: CPU/GPU/RAM)? If yes, are you interested in overclocking right away, or down the line?
I don't think so. Possibly down the line but I haven't done much research on this.
  1. Are there any specific features or items you want/need in the build? (ex: SSD, Wi-Fi, VR, VirtualLink, tensor cores, large amount of storage or a RAID setup, CUDA or OpenCL support, etc)
Wifi
  1. Do you have any specific case preferences (ex: mITX/mATX/mid-towefull-tower sizes, styles, colours, window or not, LED lighting, etc.), or a particular color theme preference for the components?
No case preference. Window and LED lighting would be a nice to have.
  1. Do you need a copy of Windows included in the budget? Note: some post-secondary students can get Windows 10 for free.
No
  1. Will you be upgrading this PC in the future (ie: will you swap out better parts later on or will you build an entirely new tower later)? If so, when?
Possibly depending on necessity. However, I would like to use this for the next 10 years with minimal upgrades.
  1. Do you have a brand preference? (ex: AMD/Intel for CPUs, AMD/NVIDIA for video cards, etc)
I do have a preference for Intel and NVIDIA. I have my eye on the i9 9900k and the NVIDIA 3080 but I'm open to suggestions and advice.
  1. What are the specs of your old PC / laptop? Do you want to see if it can be upgraded instead? If so, paste its build from PCPartPicker here.
No
  1. Extra info or particulars:
This will be my first PC so I'm open to suggestions and advice. Looking to take advantage of Cyber Monday and Boxing day sales.
