“But you can do anything,” she insisted. “So why can’t you do this?”
Lucifer lifted a hand, then dropped it at his side. “Why is this so important to you, kid?”
“Whenever I have a fight at school, Miss Gradel makes me sit down and talk to them. I don’t like it, but she says we have to.” She lifted her chin to look up at him. “And if I have to, so do you.”
Lucifer’s shocked features melted into understanding. “Ahhh, I see,” he purred. “Misery loves company. You know I coined that phrase, right?”

He took a deep breath and continued. “I don’t really run Hell. It’s all a giant shell game of the higher-ups. A deal Dad struck with the real masters of Hell a long time ago, back when Uriel and I were friends. I’m just a figurehead who got in over his head and our fathers came to this solution. I screwed up and cost Hell a chunk of their lost souls … that they weren’t using,” he added quickly, knowing that defence hadn’t saved him all that time ago when he was brought back to Heaven in chains amidst the very angry Highborn Hellions. “And a deal was struck between them. I had to pretend to rule Hell so that evil-doers had somewhere other than Heaven to go.”
Lucifer looked down at her wide eyes and wondered if he had already said too much. But, as the saying went, what the hell. He kept going. “And Hell got the double bonus of extra souls to torment and all the power that came from the belief that I ruled Hell.”

Lucifer turned away from her, staring at the brick wall of the girl’s basement. Is that even … no, he told himself. No … noo … He hates me. That’s why he exiled me. Salvaging a deal out of that screwup was a bonus. Getting rid of me was intentional because he hates me for not being like the rest of my rim-licking, goodie-two-shoes brothers and sisters.
It was a mantra that had served him well since his exile. He could feel better about it if he hated them first and more.

Lucifer swallowed. He didn’t want this. He didn’t want to think as she did. But now that the nugget had been placed in his mind, he could feel it already growing. “Kid, do you mind if we pick this up another time?” he asked, no longer wanting to be there.

“Do you know how to toss a coin?” he asked.
When the girl nodded, Lucifer flicked her a very special coin. “Flip this in the air, darlin’,” he said. “I’ll be back before it lands to continue this talk.”
The girl turned it over and over in her hands. “Promise?”
“Devil’s honour,” he said, curling his fingers into the hellion sign that over recent decades had become a rock symbol. More lies to feed the machine.

I’m not necessarily a gambling man, however when I do hit the local casino or Vegas with my buddies, blackjack is where I’ll spend the majority of my time. Something about the statistical logic of the game just tickles my fancy. I’ve studied up and pretty much mastered basic strategy to up my odds against the house, and it’s just yielded positive results.

Let me say some things I think New Vegas did better

• More guns (big plus, it's one thing I hate about FO3) -Took away big guns skill set

People complain about FO3 main story line, and yeah, it's not the best writing, but RE4 has some of the dumbest logic and it's still a legendary game. I'm pretty sure FO3 made it's main quest not too interesting to incentivize exploration and side quests. People hate on FO3 but you can do so much interesting stuff

New Vegas, I hear has good dlc but I'm broke so I couldn't afford the dlc but let me make one point: People say New Vegas offers more player freedom. Okay, then how come I can't choose to get the Chinese Stealth armour that turns invisible since the beginning in case I wanna play the whole game as a stealth raider? How come I can't get an OP winterized armor at the very beginning like in FO3 with Anchorage if I wanna play the whole game as an invincible power fantasy? Feels like im being forced to try to feel the type of immersion the devs want.
Personally, I HATE the casino and vegas aesthetics, I dont care for them at all. I like the legions aesthetics, I like you can side with factions or kill everyone if you want and I like the reputation system but people who say that FO3 is stupid because being able to blow up megaton is pointlessly evil also praise NV for being able to kill everyone? Sounds like a bandwagon.
To me, NV feels like on big orange circle that you are almost forced to run in certain directions. Invisible walls everywhere and cazadores or radiation or deathclaws blocking off certain paths for early level players.
FO3 DLC was a masterpiece imo, I understand mothership zeta is a bit of a slog but where else can you play a game against aliens like this? If NV you literally have to pick a trait just to encounter aliens or weird encounters! With FO3, it's built in!
In my experience, I had 10 times more fun exploring and getting lost in FO3, for NV it feels just boring to me after a while, it's just a big circle!!!
The Chinese stealth armor and the winterized power armor for me are such small things which make the biggest difference, some people dont wanna be forced to play the game as a "wasteland survivor simulator" If I wanted to play it that way, i would choose to. In NV, you can't choose to have a power fantasy from the start.
Imo, everything that New Vegas did better was just consequential because it was standing on the shoulders of a giant. It added more guns, iron sights, and factions. Aside from that? Just doesn't interest me

Alright now time to buy up Stock in Tesla, Disney, Netflix, Amazon and watch them go to the moon before I sell them around the time people start running out of unemployment then cash out and donate it to people in need.
Now that that's taken care of proceed to bet on LSU crushing Clemson in the championship by exact scores. Then fly out to Vegas and party like it's 2019 off my winnings before SHTF. Background
This run is a continuation of the 'Gambits in the Sand' storyline, covering the PCC's inheritance of the USA government's travesties and ecological terrors in the vast deserts of Nevada province.
Meet
Runners meet at the Emerald Gryphon Bar & Lounge in Tarislar, Puyallup.
Run
Runners take the Johnson's sub-orbital shuttle ride to Vegas after agreeing to the contract, arriving at roughly three AM. During the flight they advance legwork between Tamanous made men, hire a driver through networking, and search out additional details on Mr. White's life.
Their Tamanous mortician points them to the bodies of two treasure-hunting scavengers recovered by PuebSec in the desert, who have mana burned organs consistent with their subject mage. Using their driver, they break into his apartment, under lockdown by PuebSec, and carefully avoiding the alarms discover the mage is having odd visions and building replicas of Yucca Mountain inside his dishevelled apartment. Hijacking the cameras, they see him leave the apartment in the company of a free spirit, but are unable to identify that spirit.
Wraith sends out a drone, verifying that despite the blood alchera storm holding over the deserts of the Access Controlled Areas of the NV desert, there did appear to be footprints or a track outside the entry to the facility that lined up with the timing of their perp.
The team rents an off-road dune buggy from their driver contact, and begins moving out towards the site, getting caught up in the mana storm as their weapons get sludged and the vehicle takes a couple direct combat spells to the frame, in addition to surviving a land mine hit. The vehicle survives, however, and they make it to the compound as Slicer begins countermanding the surveillance emplacements in the facility.
Entering the property in their enviro-sealed EE suits and clothing, the team sneaks past the cameras emplacements with Slicer's assistance, narrowly avoiding a secondary alarm system set by the PCC Bobcats Special Forces for training purposes. They make it to the basement, only to discover the mage already dead, apparently prostrate in worship to an odd-looking earth spirit trapped in the lowest levels of the nuclear waste storage site.
Bubblegum grabs the corpse with some magic hands, alerting 7 Diamonds to other folks who have come to worship at the gateway. 7 Diamonds confuses Bubblegum in attempt to get him to stay; the rest of the team drags Bubblegum out after snagging a genetic sample from the mage and slamming the doors shut on the final waste and depleted fuel chamber.
They get struck by another combat spell on their way out, but avoid the landmines this time as the vehicle skirts the desert, headed badck into Las Vegas proper. The team forwards intel to the Johnson, along ith the notice that she probably needs to detonate his cranial bomb before his body alerts the PCC to some military-trespassing complaints.
Aftermath
7 Diamonds stirs in his toxic pit, attempting to send messages to the Spirit of Hoover Dam, ready to exact its vengeance against all of the Las Vegas metroplex.

Vehicle rentals, vehicle repair deposits, R2 favor (made man, Slicer), desert/radiation survival gears.

New casino downtown Vegas. Heard they had multiple floors of blackjack tables, some with "dancing dealers". Curious as I plan a trip for February.

I labeled this as "pt 1" not because I immediately have a part 2 coming any time soon, but because I haven't actually played the game a ton yet, but I plan to play it quite a bit more and expect to have more feedback. I love SimAirport, and SimCasino had been on my wishlist for a while, so I'm glad it has finally made it to early access.
This will largely be a list of (hopefully constructive) criticism. I am enjoying the game. And to be clear, almost all the feedback I have are things I view as pretty minor and not greatly impacting my ability to enjoy the game so far, but definitely some areas that can use some polish.

• I'd like a fullscreen windowed mode or just for the game to not minimize when I alt-tab out.
• It bothers me a little bit that the main menu is shoved all the way to the left edge of the screen. When I click settings on the main menu it appropriately jumps to the middle of the screen.
• There's not a way to delete profiles in-game as far as I can tell. I just have to click to browse the same files and delete them the way I'd delete any other file on my computer.
• There are no tutorials. But there's a button for them, so it's clear to me the devs have them planned, so that's good.
• Scheduling is confusing to me. It's clear that several of my employees don't need to be around from 3am to 9am approximately, but I don't easily understand how to set specific schedules for specific workers in specific areas. Maybe I'll rewatch the GreenGemini video where he was doing it. Or wait for a tutorial.
• The Daily P&L sheet confuses me. This one I think I'll talk about in a comment down below and maybe someone can help with a breakdown of an example P&L sheet. Hopefully the devs can take a look at that conversation and find a way to make improvements here.
• The Bank Loans tab is at first glance slightly confusing. I don't know what it looks like if I have a an actual loan in, but when I first viewed the page, I was trying to click on "Loan Payoff", "Daily Payment", etc. thinking they were different tabs within the Bank Loan tab I could look at. This is probably largely because I don't have any outstanding loans so it was less obvious that they were, as I now know, column headers. Maybe the whole "Existing Bank Loans" section could be hidden if I don't have any loans?
• Guest Experience, I haven't spent much time on this tab. I'd kind of like the Marketing/Demographics in one place and the current Guest Needs in a different place. As for demographics, I'd kind of like to see more information than just who is currently in the casino somehow. Like... I'd somehow like to have an idea of what my potential target clientele is and use that as a guide to help me understand how I should grow in the future, assuming I'm meeting the needs of my current guests. Have I largely tapped out the available Gambler market and the remaining real grown is in Entertainment? or Business?
• Gambling Hub - The "Complimentary" feels like it could have some more customization. Meanwhile, the Gambling Statistics section confuses me similar to the Daily P&L, so maybe that's something that can be discussed in detail in a comment.
• Entertainment - I haven't yet built a theater, so I'm only looking at the Bingo section of this tab. I think I've got the Bingo mechanics worked out, but I think this screen is slightly ambiguous as to what's going on, so this is perhaps another thing to discuss in detail in a comment. With this one, I'll post a comment explaining my understanding of Bingo just to check for confirmation that I understand it correctly.
• Transportation tab seems straight-forward enough. Although it's not clear to me how I'd know when I need more frequent garbage pick ups... other than just noticing my garbage is piling up?
• Maintenance tab also seems straight forward enough. I'm not sure I've gotten far enough to feel the need to mess with this much, although ideally this is a tab that you generally don't have to mess with much unless you're minmaxing something?
• Staff Management tab - this wholly confuses me. I need a tutorial and an adult.
• Research - This tab is very straight-forward. But I have two criticisms here. First, I can't tell when a research has been completed and I can't queue up future researches. I'd like a notification when a research completes and to be able to add research into a queue. Second, I wish the tree were deeper. Ideally, even something like SimAirport where I need different people in different roles to research different parts of different trees. For example, instead of either having or not having table games.... maybe you can just start with Blackjack, the most standard of all table games. And you don't get to modify anything about the blackjack, it's just a single deck with basic betting rules. But you can go down the research tree to unlock things about blackjack (more decks, different betting rules like splitting, doubling, insurance, ante, etc.) or you could unlock individual other table games. Poker potentially should start with the original 5 card draw rather than Hold'em, and the different poker variants should be researched. I also think poker should work more similarly to Bingo actually... (I.. visit Vegas regularly... I've played a lot of poker both in Vegas and other American casinos... I could elaborate a lot on how I'd like to see poker and poker rooms work in the game). Maybe my opinion on what the research tree could look like deserves its whole own post...
• The Casino Valuation tab seems fine.
• I want an underground layer. In Vegas its super common for the casinos to have some underground areas and that's just talking about areas accessible to the public... it doesn't even account for the fact that there are certainly plenty of staff only areas underground... like the vaults? I'd want to put vault, storage, staff rooms, security offices, etc. underground. Plus I'd like tunnels to connect different casino buildings for guests and then decorate the lawn outside with fountains or whatever.
• Has anyone noticed how big the trees in the background are?
• I'd like to be able to make custom fountains (think Belagio).
• I'd like pools and pool bars.
• I'd like vaults to be... more... vault like... not just some shelving behind a staff door waiting for Danny Ocean.
• Some music/dance clubs would be cool (casinos in Vegas tend to have these either as an alternative to or in addition to theaters).
• Can I please expand the tiny windows I have to select walls/floors in? The information windows can be expanded.
• Also, can I have more than one information open at once please? Let me look at my P&L sheet while I look at gambling statistics.
• In Las Vegas, some casinos (Caesar's Palace, Venetian come to mind) have full on shopping malls integrated into them... maybe this is a future DLC?

I'm going to stop here for now. Like I said, there will be more in the future. I am enjoying the game and am exciting to see it develop. The three comments to discuss in detail will come a bit later as I have a few things I need to do at the moment.

Im a hotel housekeeper at a well known casino in Vegas. Even though there's a pandemic going on, hotel parties are still common.
I always read about how people should stack their plates in a restaurant or whatever to make it easier on servers but I guess that doesn't apply to your filthy hotel rooms.
I understand people just want to have fun but PLEASE at least gather your trash/towels in one area or something! I spent one hour just vacuuming a room because someone needed confetti everywhere.
You'd think that you would at least get tips for cleaning after someone but tips are rare for us. Someone may leave their loose change but unless you're working in a penthouse floor, you're not gonna see any tips.
Understand that we are on a time limit. We have to complete 11 rooms a day and if we cannot, we face discipline.
More importantly, most of the housekeepers are older women, grandmas. Im lucky to be young and able but they are not. They are elders with back and knee problems from all the bending and lifting they do throughout the day.
If you don't wanna do it for us, do it for yourselves because we cannot clean the room to standards for you because we need to cut corners to save time.

Are any of the casinos in Vegas taking bets on the election? I know a ton of online places that are but I would prefer to do this when I visit in a few weeks.

I’ve gradually been learning more and more about the mafia but I’d still consider myself uneducated. I always hear about how the average soldier makes practically nothing. I also hear about how the mafia makes millions. My question is if they’re making millions but most of the people in the families are broke where does it all go. I understand that a lot of it gets given to the higher up guys but even when those guys get arrested often times they leave their families with practically nothing compared to what they were supposed to have. Or the families in general I know skimmed millions from casinos in Vegas or Lansky who controlled a gambling empire but died broke. What happens to all the money?
