AITA for not giving my friend my casino winnings after he gave me money to play?

This actually happened about a year ago, but my friend still gives me shit about it, so I figured I would get the final verdict from reddit.
Me (24nb) and a group of friends went to the casino one night. I had never been to one and I didn't have much expendable money, so I wasn't planning on gambling. One of my friends, I'll call him Tim, (26m) gave me 40 dollars to use and said it was fine, I didn't have to pay him back or anything. I was hesitant but he insisted, so I took it, we split off, and I played slots with another friend, something purely luck based.
Well, beginners luck was on my side, because I ended up winning almost 250 dollars. After a few hours we all met back up and went out to eat.
It turns out Tim had lost over 500 dollars playing poker. I didn't know this at the time, but he actually has a minor gambling addiction. When I told everyone how well I did, he got pissed and said I wouldn't have anything if it wasn't for him. He had a point so I offered to give him 40$ of it, the exact amount he gave me.
This is where I might be the AH. Tim said because he had lost so much, he thought it was only fair that I gave him at least half of my winnings. I absolutely refused, in my eyes I owed him nothing, not even the 40$, but I was trying to be nice. Some of our friend group said that I should do this, since it was extra money I wouldn't have if not for him. I didn't budge, and the rest of the night was awkward, and Tim would not speak to me.
Another friend pulled me aside after and told me about Tims addiction, and said that he had most likely lost his rent money that night. I said it was unfortunate, but not my problem.
So Reddit, am I the asshole for keeping the money?
Edit: I did end up giving him back the original 40$ he gave me.

$1000 free risk contest with casino winnings

I took part in the $200 risk free casino credit and won $1200 in Blackjack off the $200.
I have yet to place a sportsbook bet. Can I participate in the $1000 risk free bet off my winnings in the casino. I don't see anywhere in the terms and conditions that say otherwise. It says as long as you deposit a minimum of $10 into your account and make your first wager. But they say nothing of casino winnings. Emailed support but have yet to hear back and figured I'd take a shot on the Knicks tonight if it's risk free.
Also, side note. I read the bonus they give you back if you lose, you cannot withdraw and if you don't use it within a certain period of time (I believe 2 weeks), they take it back. Any confirmation on that would be helpful as well.

Claiming casino winnings/losses on taxes

Hi, so I just had a dream I won huge while gambling, and then I woke up. I began daydreaming about the money, which lead me to thinking - how do you report your gains and losses if you don’t have an account? I remember when I did gamble, I put in money, played a bit, and exchanged the voucher for cash. Let’s say I won about $5,000, and the casino just paid me out in cash. How do I report those earnings to IRS?

Act 1 Casino Winnings Bug

I've been using the 10 token slot machines, and betting 20 tokens. When I win something, I'm getting the same winnings as I would if I had only bet 10 tokens.
For example, I wagered 20 tokens and got the 15x prize, but only received 150 tokens. In this image, you can see the 150 token winnings and the 20 token wager.
Am I being stupid or is this a bug? If so, has anyone else experienced this?

Recieving a pay out from my Indian reservation from a land claim. The lawyers handling it said it should not effect EI, Welfare, disability etc as it is not actually income. Question is, does that mean I dont have to claim it on my EI report akin to casino winnings?

I'm just looking for insight on this as I dont want to get dinged for fraud or something, but also dont want my EI to be jeopardized as it is not THAT much money and I would still need my EI in the long run.

AITA for wanting to split casino winnings with the group?

My girlfriend's family and I went to a casino as girlfriend's brother (GB) had been wanting to go. None of us are gamblers by any means, so we only brought $20 for us all to play some slots on. We inserted the $20 into GB's machine. As luck has it, GB won $100 on first play. We decided to play a little more on some cheap slots taking turns as we went. After $10 of plays or so, we called it quits and decided to cash out the $100 from the first play. Since we were all playing on the same ticket the group decided to split the $100 4 ways between us. This however did not sit quite right with GB.
GB believes that since he was the one to pull the lever on the slot, he should be the one to decide what happens with the $100. He cited that casino rules state that whoever pulls the lever gets the rights to the money. However, the rest of the group believes that as we were all playing on the same pool of money, we should split any winnings equally among the group as anyone could have won it.
AITA for splitting GB's winnings among the group?
